METALLICA Collaboration With JA RULE Due At Rock Radio, Video To Be Lensed In Coming Weeks

METALLICA's collaboration with rapper JA RULE and producer Swizz Beatz in the form of a track called "We Did It" (not "We Did It Again", as previously reported),taken from the Swizz Beatz compilation album G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories, will be going for adds at rock radio in the coming weeks, according to a brand new MTV.com report. There are also tentative plans for acclaimed director Hype Williams to direct a split-screen video for the song, which should hit outlets in May. "I want to show METALLICA got one world going on, JA got the other," Beatz told MTV.

The compilation CD was originally scheduled to be issued through Dreamworks Records on May 14th, but has now apparently been delayed until June 11th for reasons that were not disclosed.

As previously reported, the METALLICA track will be the only rock cut on the album, which will also include songs from Ronald Isley and Shyne, among others. "We Did It" will feature JA RULE rapping over two 12-bar verses accompanied by the group's trademark crunch, whichin its updated formwill reportedly include contributions from vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield (who was in rehab when the original track was laid down last August).
